چکیده

Soil salinity is one of the major abiotic stresses restricting plant growth and development. Application regulators (PGRs) a possible practical means for minimizing salinity-induced yield losses, can be used in addition to or as an alternative crop breeding enhancing tolerance. The PGRs auxin, cytokinin, nitric oxide, brassinosteroid, gibberellin, salicylic acid, abscisic jasmonate, ethylene have been advocated use improve performance under saline conditions. This review summarizes current knowledge effectiveness various ameliorating detrimental effects on development, elucidates physiological genetic mechanisms underlying this process by linking with their downstream targets signal transduction pathways. It shown that, while each these possesses ability alter ionic redox homeostasis, complexity interactions between involvement numerous signaling pathways makes it difficult establish unequivocal causal link effectors mediating plants’ adaptation salinity. beneficial are also strongly dependent genotype, timing application, concentration used. action spectrum levels. Taken together, results rather narrow “window” which PGR observed, hence limiting application (especially field conditions). concluded light above complexity, context cost–benefit analysis, tolerance remains more reliable avenue impact yield. Further progress requires studies cell-based interaction membrane transporters ion homeostasis.

Response of Germination and Seedling Growth of Pepper cultivars to Seed Priming by Plant Growth Regulators

In order to study the germination and growth of pepper seeds, a factorial experiment based on a completely randomized design with three replications was conducted. The first factor was consisting of five cultivars of pepper (Marquiza, Cadia, California Wonder, California Wonder 310 and California Wonder 300) and the second factor was gibberellic acid with three levels (0 as control, 250 and 500...

Improving Pistacia vera micropropagation: with emphasis on the efficiency of minerals, vitamins and plant growth regulators

A complete micropropagation protocol was developed for Pistacia vera cv. Ghazvini, an important rootstock in Pistachio orchards in Iran. In present study, the efficiency of a new medium called GNH (Garoosi, Nezami and Haddad) was investigated against some standard media. Different vitamins, calcium (Ca) sources and plant growth regulators (PGRs) were tested on in vitro shoot multiplication and ...

Comparison of Plant Growth Regulators and Exogenous Ethylene Effects on Two Types of Cut Carnation (Dianthus caryophyllus L.)

The main object of this study is to investigate the effect of plant growth regulators on the prolongation of vase life of two kinds of cut carnation under normal and ethylene. Carnation is one of the most popular flowers that has a short life due to its sensitivity to ethylene. Also, the effect of plant growth regulators on several physiological traits under ethylene stress and normal condition...

Improvement of Rooting in Forsythia × intermedia Cuttings by Plant Growth Regulators

Asexual propagation through cuttings is an appropriate method used for most ornamental plants. Success in increasing the percentage of rooting, reducing root emergence and increasing proliferation efficiency depends on several factors like plant growth regulators, especially auxins. Rooting of Forsythia × intermedia is difficult and requires specific hormonal treatments and proper cultivation b...
